Each year, the Business Observer recognizes business leaders from Tampa to Naples who shine brightest among their peers, from entrepreneurs to medical administrators to bank executives.
The Business Observer’s Annual 40 Under 40 Awards recognize the region’s top young entrepreneurs and professionals who are committed to business growth, professional excellence and community service.
Who do they choose? They are looking for business community leadership- the people who, if you are new to town, you need to meet. They also look for career success, and in general people who are going places- the “most likely to succeed.”
They seek people who have taken leaps or risks in their careers to start or run a business. Those that have overcome obstacles or hard times to rise above. Those who inspire. These are the chosen business leaders make up the 40 Under 40 list.

Wondering a little bit about why they chose Ryan? Let us enlighten you a bit on how he got here.
Ryan, a Sarasota native and President and co-founder of Nautilus Homes has spent most of his life taking on challenges before his time. By age 11, he was beginning his summer days at dawn on job sites learning the details of home building from the bottom up.
After being promoted to VP at another construction company at age 25, Ryan decided it was time to make his own stamp on Florida architecture and home building. Nautilus Homes was born.
The company grew in 3 months to 3 employees, a downtown office, and $200,000 of work in place per month.
Today, Ryan and his team have been honored with four regional Aurora Awards, Best of SRQ Best Contractor 2016-2019, SRQ magazine HOTY, Best of Houzz Design Award 2018-2019. They have also been Featured in Veranda Magazine, Florida Design, Style Magazine, SRQ Magazine, Venice Magazine, Luxury Home, and Luxe Magazine.
He is a board member of the General Contractors Licensing and Examining Board of Sarasota County, as well as an Ace Program mentor where he leads high school students in architecture, construction management, engineering on a weekly basis. He recently was chosen to give the keynote address at the final gala.
Last year, Nautilus also gave a scholarship and internship to a promising young student.
He works hard everyday to ensure he is conducting business with the highest levels of excellence and integrity and we are proud that he is part of our team!
Honorees were celebrated at the awards reception on October 17. Congrats, Ryan, on being one of West Florida’s brightest professionals!
