Sarasota luxury home builder Nautilus Homes was honored with Grand Aurora and Silver Aurora Awards during the July 28 Southeast Building Conference’s 36th annual Design Competition, held in Kissimmee, Florida at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Conference Center. Hosted by the Florida Home Builders Association, the annual conference is the largest building industry trade show in the Southeastern United States. The 2017 “Aurora Awards” Design Competition drew 400 entries.
Nautilus Homes won a Grand Aurora Award in the Best Kitchen Category ($1M to 2M) as the builder for its “Shifting Shores” project in Osprey, Florida. Nautilus built the 4,400 square foot, waterfront organic architecture home, for a private client, in collaboration with Architect Randy Paul Sample of Sarasota. The home’s stunning wood and stone kitchen was designed by the project’s Interior Architect from Arkansas – Walter Jennings of Maurice Jennings Architect – the same firm that designed the spectacular home featured in the Golden Globe-nominated film “Gone Girl.” The 315-square-foot stone and wood kitchen features a cherry wood central island; three-inch thick cherry butcher block island countertop, custom-designed cherry chandelier, and gorgeous water views from all work stations. Elite Woodwork of Sarasota created the outstanding kitchen cabinetry.
Nautilus was also awarded a Silver Aurora Award in the Best Custom Home Category (4,000 to 6,000 sf) as builder for its “Venice Beach Cottage” project, in collaboration with Harrell & Co., Architects of Naples, Florida (interior design by Stuart Cohen and Julie Hacker). Built for a private client, the 4,200-square-foot home is situated in Venice, Florida,
