As a home building company, impeccable design is not just important for the houses we construct, but also in our everyday lives. We believe that “wellness within our walls” starts with well-thought-out design. We strive to ensure our Nautilus Homes family enjoys coming to the office everyday. We remodeled the space a couple of years ago top to bottom to ensure it was a zen, mindful place for our team, clients, subcontractors and partners in interior design and architecture to enjoy. Since then, we have been taking our time creating the right pieces to fill the space. One of these items we have been dreaming about is a custom drafting table for our team to enjoy. After much searching, we discovered local talent in woodworking, Ryan Trembley.
Once we saw the following quote on Ryan’s website, we knew we had to meet him.

Trembley is incredibly passionate and skilled at what he does. You may have seen some of his unique signs around town. He started out with a two story tree house fort and a makeshift woodworking slingshot as a boy and his passion for woodworking grew from there into fraternity coats of arms in college. After some construction management experience, he took on his own house. Through bartering, blood, sweat, and two hands, he framed his own back porch, and shed, and renovated nearly every square inch of his 1957 home.
He was so intrigued by the woodworking craft, and after realizing there was so much many mass produced pieces, he knew it was time to dedicate his time to the creative process of woodworking creating one of a kind pieces of art.
The Nautilus team worked with Trembley to create a one-of-a-kind Mid-century Modern drafting table on which the teams could review plans. “We wanted something unique and perfect for the space. Something our team would truly enjoy using in the office. We wanted a table that tilted for easy plan viewing, that had a tray for tools and was glass topped. He seamlessly met each demand and the result is a gorgeous addition to our office!”
The pair of Ryans worked together over the course of a couples of months refining plans and getting the details just right. “It’s been great working with Ryan P.,” says Ryan Trembley. “Knowing someone is going to appreciate the details leads to a better product. It’s a function based design, yet nearly every surface is visible, so form and proportion were also paramount.”
