Nautilus Homes president Ryan Perrone recently attended Sarasota Riverview High School to watch Ace Mentor Program of America/Sarasota Affiliate students present their design projects. Ryan is a Mentor for the group, which inspires high school students to pursue careers in construction, design, engineering, and architecture.
“What a great night watching these incredible students present the projects they had worked so hard on,” Ryan said. “I am very proud of my team for creating a great design that met all of the requirements.”
Throughout the school year, Ryan has visited Sarasota’s Riverview High School once a week to meet with students and give them real-world insights into the hard work and opportunities of the design and building industry. “The program introduces students to construction and design careers, and encourages them to investigate and understand all the different roles involved in building and design,” Ryan said. “It gives them an opportunity to get real-world insights into what areas of the building industry they might want to pursue.”
“One of the things I enjoy sharing with the students, is the inspiration and example that they can go into this industry and, with hard work and focus, they can make a great living while having the freedom of their own business and the pride of having a craft they enjoy.”
